Backorders That Stopped Clogging Fulfilment

PlatformWooCommerce AvailabilityFree & Pro

In a standard WooCommerce workflow, an order containing a backordered item sits in Processing just like every order that is ready to go out. For the client's fulfilment team, that meant the daily queue was constantly clogged with orders that could not actually move, and staff had to open orders one by one to work out which were waiting on stock.

There was no view of which products were on backorder or how many units were owed, so matching incoming stock against waiting orders was slow and easy to get wrong. They wanted the backlog handled separately and a faster way to work it each day.

A central Backorders dashboard, under the shared Systema menu, listing every product WooCommerce currently reports as on backorder, the units owed as negative stock, each product's backorder mode, and a direct link to the product editor. Backordered items surface in one place instead of being buried inside the general order queue.

It is built to the WooCommerce.com Marketplace baseline, with High-Performance Order Storage (HPOS) and cart and checkout blocks declared compatible, so it drops into a modern store without conflicts.

Backordered products no longer hide inside the main fulfilment queue.
